What X2Download does
X2Download is a free online YouTube downloader. It turns a YouTube link into an MP4 video or an MP3 audio file that you can keep on your phone, tablet or computer.
It works for normal videos and for YouTube Shorts, right in the browser, without an app, an extension or an account.
How it works
- Copy the link of a YouTube video or Short.
- Paste it into the box on our home page.
- Choose MP4 or MP3, tap a quality and save the file.
Formats and qualities
Videos are available as MP4 in 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p, 240p and 144p, depending on the video. Audio is available on the MP3 tab in 320, 256 and 128 kbps. Each video card shows the real file size before you tap.
Honest limits
- Only public videos can be saved. Private, deleted and region-blocked videos do not work.
- One video per link. Playlist links save only the video in the link.
- The highest video quality is 1080p, and each file can be up to 2 GB.
- The service may change or be unavailable at times.
Built for phones
Most people use X2Download on a phone, so the page is made for small screens first. The paste button, large tap targets and a grid that shows every quality at once as a card to tap make it quick to use with one hand, and nothing needs to be installed.
X2Download is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
